A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Class
Just a quick note this morning. I was, as usual, dressed in my wrap-pants, the burgundy ones shown to be specific. While I unlocked the doors for class last night, I noticed two 10 or 11 year old boys at the drinking fountain and they noticed me. One of them obviously wanted to ask me something, he screwed up his face and timidly asked, “Can I ask you a question?” I said yes, of course. The kids at the community center are full of questions. “Do you wear those pants all the time?” I replied that I do wear them a lot. He stood up tall, sized up my pants and then leaned forward for a good look—we were seven or eight feet away from each other but I was making my way to the door just beyond where he stood. He scrunched up his face again and looked up at me, “Do you wear underwear with those pants?”
His friend was nonplussed for a moment. A wide grin crossed my face as I assured him that I do indeed wear underwear with my pants. My response woke his friend up, who quickly punched my inquisitor in the arm. “Well you could,” he protested. “You could go without underwear and no one would ever know!” What are you wearing to class?
