I wanted to write a quick note to the students, friends, and families of Shanta Yoga to say thank you for your generous donations through the month of November. I just returned from delivering the Sub-for Santa gifts to the Heart2Home Foundation. This has been a wonderful experience for us to offer these gifts to this deserving family on your behalf. It is my sincere wish that you will carry this feeling of compassion throughout the holiday season, however you choose to celebrate, while continuing to share ease with others. You have our gratitude.

We are happy to announce that we have chosen a charity for November and December donations!
We have chosen a family in need from the Heart 2 Home Sub-4-Santa list. Heart To Home is an group that organizes donations and volunteers for home renovations for those with special needs, but they continue to spread joy by organizing a Sub-for-Santa each year. We are so happy to join with them in making the holidays happy for others.
We have chosen a family with six children, so we need all the help we can get to make this a great Christmas for them. Any class fees will go directly to purchasing items on their wish list. Or, if you would rather, you can purchase something from their list or choose something you feel is appropriate. We have all the information about gender, age, sizes, etc., so please let Tyran or Melanie know if you’d like to help. All donations need to be in by December 6 to be handed out in time for Christmas.
Come to class tonight and fill your heart as you lift the burdens of others while finding ease within your own life . Class begins at 8 pm inside Agility Physical Therapy.

Read MoreMelanie wrote about why we teach regular classes on a donation basis. We both feel very strongly about sharing what we have, about giving back to the community and about helping others. As I thought about this, I knew that with the holidays coming I wanted to do more. It took only a moment for me to know what I wanted to do but I needed to talk with Melanie about it, this was something that required support from both of us or it just wouldn’t happen. When I made my suggestion, Melanie’s reply came without hesitation: “More proof we think alike. I was going to ask you this very thing.”
Classes will continue through November and December at the Agility location. We will still help you drop the stress of daily life so that when you say “Happy Thanksgiving” or “Merry Christmas” you can actually feel happy or merry about the holidays. So, if everything is continuing as it has, what was the amazing idea that has both Melanie and I filled with excitement? Giving.
All donations received during November and December will go to the local food bank and other similar charities. So, if you’re tired of stress then give it up! Well, give it up at least for an hour or so as you practice with us. You will learn to feed your inner light and also give nutrition and comfort to others in need. If you decide to make a donation of food, please donate only non-perishable, non-expired food. Remember, 100% of your donations in November will go to the local food bank. In December we will donate to the local food bank and homeless shelters.
