A Heartfelt Thank You

Posted by on Dec 3, 2010 | 1 comment

I wanted to write a quick note to the students, friends, and families of Shanta Yoga to say thank you for your generous donations through the month of November.  I just returned from delivering the Sub-for Santa gifts to the Heart2Home Foundation.  This has been a wonderful experience for us to offer these gifts to this deserving family on your behalf.  It is my sincere wish that you will carry this feeling of compassion throughout the holiday season, however you choose to celebrate, while continuing to share ease with others.  You have our gratitude.

Classes, the Studio and Sub for Santa

Posted by on Nov 28, 2010 | 0 comments

As some of you already know, Dr. Bartholomew was unable to renew the lease for Agility Physical Therapy and, as a result, we currently do not have a location to hold classes.  I have made some attempts to find a new temporary home for us until the studio is complete but those efforts have also been unsuccessful.  As a result, we are cancelling all public classes through December.  Thankfully, this is just a temporary break in our regular schedule until the studio is finished.  If you would like to schedule some private classes, a private Yoga Nidra session or if you have the ability to host some public classes or Nidra sessions, please email info@shantayoga.com.

Speaking of the studio, the ceilings are all painted and color is on some of the walls.  It will not be long until the painting is finished and we begin work on the flooring.  Looking to the future for a moment, our break from regular public classes really won’t be long.  On the 17th, Melanie asked for some feedback on when you would like to see classes scheduled.  Allow me to repeat that request.  Currently we are considering some mid-morning and night classes.  What time in the morning is best for you, what days of the week?  What about night classes?  is 8:00 to 9:30 pm too late?  What about 7:30 to 9:00 pm?  Are 90 minute classes just too much or would 60 minute classes also be helpful?  Tell us what you think before we finalize the schedule so we can help you gain the most from the time you spend in class.  Leave your thoughts in the comments below or email them to info@shantayoga.com.

Melanie and I went shopping Friday as part of our Sub for Santa effort.  I am happy to say that with your help we will meet all of the family’s needs such as coats and gloves and other basic items, not only this but we will also be able to provide some of the items on their Christmas wish lists.  Thank you students, friends and family of Shanta Yoga for bringing some ease and happiness to our Sub for Santa family.  We also want to express our gratitude to Heart2Home for all they do to help families in need in our community and for organizing some extra cheer for 46 local families this Christmas.

Shanta Yoga turns Santa Yoga

Posted by on Nov 11, 2010 | 0 comments

Here is the post that Melanie made a few moments ago on the Shanta Yoga Facebook page.  This season, Shanta Yoga is turning into Santa Yoga.
~ Tyran

We are happy to announce that we have chosen a charity for November and December donations!

We have chosen a family in need from the Heart 2 Home Sub-4-Santa list.  Heart To Home is an group that organizes donations and volunteers for home renovations for those with special needs, but they continue to spread joy by organizing a Sub-for-Santa each year.  We are so happy to join with them in making the holidays happy for others.

We have chosen a family with six children, so we need all the help we can get to make this a great Christmas for them.  Any class fees will go directly to purchasing items on their wish list.  Or, if you would rather, you can purchase something from their list or choose something you feel is appropriate.  We have all the information about gender, age, sizes, etc., so please let Tyran or Melanie know if you’d like to help.  All donations need to be in by December 6 to be handed out in time for Christmas.

Come to class tonight and fill your heart as you lift the burdens of others while finding ease within your own life . Class begins at 8 pm inside Agility Physical Therapy.
